My water DOES work, but Ice and lights are not working. It is cooling

**Note: This is for the Kitchenaide 5 door refrigerator model: KRMF706ESS (not in the selection list)**

What’s not working:

  • ice maker
  • interior lights

What works:

* water dispenser

  • ice dispenser agitator
  • touch panels

Diagnostics/Troubleshooting: The refrigerator and freezer are both cooling properly. I've confirmed that it is not sabbath mode. I have also flipped the circuit breaker a few times with no success, and checked all the door sensors (2 x refrigerator door and 1 x freezer), all tested fine. Despite having good door sensors, the door ajar light is lit up on the main panel.

Every couple weeks the refrigerator starts the door ajar chime. At this time, all the interior lights EXCEPT the 4 refrigerator sidewall lights work. This usually only lasts a matter of minutes then they all stop working again.

Any ideas?

Found some info that may be of interest regarding the problem. Hopefully it is for your model also.

Here’s a Technical Service Pointer regarding the problem that you are also having. (I think). I realize that your model number is not listed in the document but maybe still worth a look anyway

According to this website the tech sheet part number for the refrigerator is W10844356. This shows how to get into the diagnostic mode for the refrigerator which may give a clue as to what is happening

Found this link that also describes the same problem with nearly the same model refrigerator. The more relevant information is towards the bottom. They also mention about the TSP that I linked above so maybe there’s something in it.

Thanks Jayeff! It sounds like deli drawer panel may be the issue. I just had that replaced about a month earlier. .. I’ll try to dig into it this weekend when I have a little time. I’ll keep you posted.
