Ripped of contact on print board

Hi,

While changing SSD drive I ripped of one of the small connectors just above the battery, what is the best way of repairing the issue. I already got the advise of finding someone to soldering , but this will be unlikely the small contactor is embedded in a plastic body.

I thought trying to keep connector on its contacts with the help of black electrical tape. When dismounting the parts at the opening there is such tape strip on top which covers whole the connection area.

Thank you for your reply, I hope the pictures are clear enough about the issue.

It is the contact marked J123V next to TP 6 on the first picture, the second picture is the part which broke off.

Options

The connector you broken off is the battery board data cable connector on the battery unit.

The easiest fix is just replacing the battery MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Function Keys, Late 2016-2017) Battery following this guide MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Battery Replacement

Thank you so much for your answer.

But the sad and stupid side of the story is that the battery proposed on this website is more than double than the Market price here in the UK.

The market price for the battery is around £60 were on this website it is about £128.99 and unfortunately this difference is too big for my budget , adds to it that my previous employer left the UK and I am looking for new challenge.

I don't know if you know the people running this website, but with such price difference even with the excellence of service provided, they must miss out on quit a lot of business opportunity.

Maybe not too bad to make them aware of this.

@marcvlo Did you convert the US Dollars to Pounds? I get £110 Pounds! I haven't seen this battery go for lass than that!
