click/touch dial will not work

The click/touch dial will not work. The last time I used it I paused it and it turned itself off. When setting in a cradle (i.e. a unit with its own speakers or a unit to play the iPod through my home audio system), the iPod works using the remote controller. The remote controller I own do not have a full range of features; therefore, I can only play/pause/forward/reverse the iPod. I cannot change play lists or access any other feature, including the menue. Do you know what might be wrong and what it might take to fix the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

First, try restoring the iPod. If that does not work, try opening the iPod to see if there is any damage or corrosion. I have also had it that once I opened the iPod, detached and reattached cables, the problem goes away.

If still nothing, try another click wheel. If that still doesn't help, then the final thing it could be is the logic board.
