laptop keeps on beeping every once and awhile

hi, i have an hp touchsmart tm2 and i keep on having annoying beepings while working on it. the beeps are for continuous 4 or 5 minutes then it keeps quite, then starts beeping again. what could be the problem ?

Is there any pattern to the beeps....??

hi Matt, the beeps are short signals, similar to when the motherboard beeps when there's something wrong, but in my case, the laptop is working fine and at certain moments it starts beeping.

i noticed that when i once tried to change the power management settings.

Options

Intermittent beeping can be cause by ESD damaged RAM. You RAM sticks may have been shocked when handling them. Try removing one and then the other and see if the problem persists.
