Bluetooth USB Adapter not connecting under OS-X Mavericks 10.9.5

I’m using OS-X Mavericks for use with my older iLife 11’ programs and for some reason I realized that my Asus BT-400 USB Bluetooth adapter wasn’t working. it was working previously with Snow Leopard.

I’m confused as to why it isn’t working here. I would use onboard Bluetooth but my iMac model does not have onboard Bluetooth

Apple altered their driver support a few times it sounds like you got hit with an older driver being wiped out.

Unless you can find the older driver and replace the current one (if that is even possible) there is little you can do to get your Asus USB Bluetooth adapter running again.

So what can you do?? Simply use a USB wired mouse/trackpad instead or see if you can retro-fit the Apple Bluetooth board into your system iMac Intel 20" EMC 2266 Bluetooth Board Replacement Here’s the board MacBook/iMac Bluetooth board (09), Apple P/N 922-8823, Cable, Bluetooth, Apple P/N 922-8836 You’ll still need to setup a external antenna if its not present in the case (plastic logo in back).

huh, im just a little confused as to why the bluetooth usb works with my catalina patched partition of my ssd. did they end up adding the drivers back?

it also works with windows 10 as it is a recent bluetooth adapter

@draftiestsquid1 - Didn't say the driver was missing! Just replaced with a newer one which for some reason won't work with your BT adapter.

Each OS you are using will have their own drivers which won't have any effect within this OS work space.
