Ram Access Door Damaged

When I went to install new upgraded ram, the springs on the corners of the door, popped off. After a long time of going back and forth to the Apple Store I was able to order the replacement ram access door, it was going to cost me about $35 & they would install it for free under warranty. The Apple Store just canceled my order for a replacement Ram Access Door, due to Covid 19. I was told they can’t order it and there is nothing they can do for me.

I see used doors available for 2014 or 2015 iMac, any idea if those doors will work? How do I order a replacement part, if those can’t work? I do I find the correct part number for my iMac? Help me, I am lost in the hamster wheel at Apple!

Answer this question I have this problem too

I’m surprised they made up such a wild story! Where are you and was this an Apple Store?

Clearly you should write a note to big Tim as technically this should have been covered under warranty (as long as you didn’t force things breaking it) Here’s Tim’s email is tcook@apple.com. Post some pics with the message to prove it was defective.

OK, so it may take a few weeks for Apple Corp to respond or they may not!

So its up to you to decide if you want to wait or just get the needed part 27” iMac Retina 5K Memory Cover (19/20) - Grade-A. The new part is more expensive! 27” iMac Retina 5K Memory Cover (19/20) - New

If Apple responds have them pay for the replacement part and the shipping costs. Good Luck!
