White screen and not reaction keyboard, can’t go to safe mode.

Hi. I have problem with withe screen without apple logo. in my case I see white screen and my usb keyboard from windows didn’t react. I can’t go into safe mode CMD +R and other boot option. I can’t turn on any safe mode.

it could be hardware problem?

Update (12/28/2020)

I forgot add one more thing. When I left working Mac with this white screen it works noisy. Fan working full and after a few minutes back is heat. Something is heating inside, maybe it is really graphic card.

Yep! It sounds like a failed GPU board iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 GPU Card Replacement.

To prove it you should be able to get into Target Disk Mode by pressing the T key. This mode bypasses the AMD GPU logic, using instead the Intel graphics engine within the CPU.

Hi. Thank for you idea. How can I use T ? When I started iMac with pressed T nothing happens. Still white screen

@Sebastian M - Are you using a USB keyboard? You may need a real Apple one as some Windows keyboards won't work properly as they need a social driver.

Here's a good reference: Mac startup key combinations Take the time to review it maybe you waited to long.

@Sebastian M - Time to open the system up to inspect things as well as test the PS and logic board voltages.

This will take some work and you do need the tools, skills, schematics & boardview drawings. to tackle this. Are you up to it? It might be wise to find someone near you with the needed skills & tools.

@danj hmmm... I want to try the first thing with original keyboard . It is strange I can’t use any key during starting iMac. Even simple T or command + R etc.. are you sure it could be windows usb keyboard problem?
