Only restore on USB 1.1, Wont charge

I am trying to repair a water damaged Iphone.

I was getting various errors when trying to restore, Error 9 was the most common. I noticed that when I plugged it in the the computer, Windows would always give me an message to plug it into a USB 2.0 port. (port was 2.0) Then during restore it would always fail.

Anyway. I was able to finally restore after using a USB 1.1 hub.

Now the problem is that it won't charge. When I plug the phone into either a AC Charger or the computer, the Graphic changes to indicate that it is charging, but it does not charge. I was able to charge the same battery in another phone, so I know it is not a faulty battery.

I am suspecting that one connections in the USB has failed.

I have replaced the charging port assembly, and examined the internal plug (connecting Charging port to logic board) and it seems fine.

Any advice on where the problem may be. Thanks.

Does this look like it could be the problem? Is that a Fuse that is missing? Maybe a capacitor?

in short..yes. there is meant to be a little blue inductor/fuse there. You could try to replace it or join the 2 points with a blob of solder...this isn't the best choice as you have no fuse, but it will solve the problem.

Thanks, I will try that. What about this, its the same board. Looks like a slip of a screwdriver took this off. Is it a fuse, resistor or capacitor? Can I just join it? Hope you can see it.
