Video sometimes works but mostly gets scrambled; video or logic board?

My video works but mostly it gets scrambled and cannot be read. The iPod still works (plays music) but you just can change any settings because you can see the screen. I can get the screen working again after connecting to my computer and it seems to work until I cut it off and then back on again. Is the problem the video or the logic board?

To reset your iPod:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Can you describe the scrambling? Is it skewed diagonally? Is it out of focus? Is it blurred? Is it jumbled?

Sounds like a logic board problem, but you can always try replacing the lcd, however it may be a good idea to open it up first and see if there's a loose cable.

When the screen is "scrambled" it is totally unreadable, you can not make out any character or images but the screen is not totally blank. I have tried rebooting several times, you can't read the screen while it is rebooting either.

Since the screen lights up , it's probably OK. I have not found this problem yet while researching. Give me another day.

I'm sorry. I have not been able to identify your problem. I would take it to an authorized service center. Some things I just can't diagnose without seeing and testing them.
