WHICH adhesive kit for my iMac 2015 27" Retina?

I’m going inside my 2015 iMac 27” Retina, I believe it’s an A1419.

I ordered THIS kit, which is what was given as the proper set ([linked product missing or disabled: IF174-005-2]).

HOWEVER - there’s ANOTHER set (iMac Intel 27" (2012-2019) Adhesive Strips) that covers the same model range.

The PDF installation sheets say that the one I HAVE does NOT have a ‘cutout’ for a mic, but the set I DIDN’T get DOES have the cutout.

As my iMac DOES have a mic, I’m concerned that I may have the wrong kit.

Can anyone address this? Thanks in advance! Adam

The adhesive strips are made using the same material. The die cutter used to stamp them out is the only difference! You clearly understand the issue is Apple altered the microphone from the top to the bottom of the display. So depending on what you got you may need to cut a hole for the microphone to get the sound input. I have a single hole paper punch to cut the gap as needed.

Hi Dan - THANK YOU for your reply!

I sort of figured the material was the same; perhaps just a different "layout". As long as this set will hold the display in when the iMac is re-assemble, I'm goo. And if the only issue is the mic location, I can surely modify the set I have to accommodate this.

Thanks again!!! Adam
