power supply plug port loose in laptop

Hello,

I own an Acer 5253-BZ660, and havent had to open it up yet, since buying it about 7 months ago. The yellow port for the power supply felt completely sturdy when I bought it. Now it feels significantly looser ("Rattles" side to side) as time has gone on. does anyone know if/where there is a guide to help with this specific task? Thank you for your time.. -M--

I'm also interested in replacing the internal speaker with one of better qualiy. This one still works a.t.m. Less popping sounds, and more volume are my intentions.

Mike, what you will have to do , is to disassemble your laptop. I do not have the 5250 series manual , but you can take a look at the 5220 on here. The power adapter is soldered on the mother board. See if one of the legs is loose or broken. You might get the part at Mouser.com or similar places. Should be straight forward solder job. As for replacing the speakers, you might have a bit more trouble. I do not believe that there is a big market for great internal speakers, so you may only get replacement speakers that are of the same sound quality. Check your caps on the sound card portion of your logic board to make sure the hissing and popping does not come from there. Consider some good external speakers to improve the sound and volume. Good Luck.

Thank you very much for the response, and the guide. I was able to find the part number quickly. Hopefully there's nothing too tricky about opening it all up. This is my only computer at this time, and when I noticed the piece getting kinda wobbly I figured I should be ready to repair ahead of time. Thanks again, you were very helpful!!
