Power button works but doesn't click

Hi! As I’ve written in the title, my iPhone 6s power button works but doesn’t click. It’s also hard to press. I’ve just found out but, as far as I can remember, it’s always been like this (refurbished phone).

I saw that to remove the button I basically should disassemble everything. I replaced the screen myself, so I think I’d be able to do this. But I definitely don’t want to haha.

Maybe I have to make only a minor adjustment to make it work properly, I can’t see how the button or the button cover could be broken. Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Update (12/06/2020)

Does anybody know what it might be?

I opened the phone, and I noticed that the power button is not as external as the volume buttons. I tried to gently push it out with the tip of the spudger but it doesn’t seem to move.

At this point, I don’t know what to do… Should I order both the flex cable and the button itself? How can I know what’s the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The phone will have to be disassembled to fix it Unfortunately. What’s most likely the problem is the button contact has worn away or the button has been bent out of place when being repaired.

To fix this if the contact has worn away is to take it apart and slip small pieces of paper In between the contact and the silicon (if there is any there might not be a silicon pad). This will make up for the space where the contact has worn away. If this is the problem, this is a common issue with Xbox 360 controller RB and LB buttons.

If the (button) is bent away from the Contact (the thing you press) you just have to bend it back. I would do this slowly to minimize breaking. If you don’t like the idea of bending something that might break you can always un-solder and re-solder it back on in the correct position.

In the event it does break off and it can’t be soldered back on, you can buy a replacement button since those are a pretty common part.

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the late reply.

I know I'd have to open the phone to fix it, but I don't like the idea of disassembling everything. Is it possible to move the button cover without removing the logic board and everything? Now it started clicking again but just a little, so I think the button cover is simply out of place
