Vibrate not working - iPhone SE (checked software & replaced vibrator)

The vibrate is not working on my iPhone SE. I’ve replaced the vibrator unit, and I have reinstalled the software via iTunes. Everything else works. It stopped working after a screen replacement repair.

Any suggestions on what to try next or how to diagnose the problem more precisely?

Hello, I encountered this issue as well - turns out the bracket for the front facing camera assembly could be the fault - the camera and speaker may be slightly misaligned, causing the bracket to bend slightly. The bracket sits right next to the vibrator and because the 5s/SE 1st generation uses a spinning styled vibrator can stop the vibrator from actually spinning.

hope this helps (:

This is very helpful. I’ll have a look inside and see if that might be the cause. Did you discover a way of checking whether this was the issue? I’m not sure how to discover whether the bracket is misaligned.

You can try testing it while the screen is slightly lifted? Try re-seating the cameras and earpiece speaker, and slip bracket over while applying pressure, especially near side next to vibrator, then insert the three screws. Mine still didn’t work properly afterwards, but I didn’t really try and fix it as it didn’t bother me as much as the cracked screen did. Hope this helps (:

Great suggestion. You were quite right: the slip bracket wasn’t seated correctly and it was blocking the vibrator from turning. All fixed! Thanks!

Go to Settings> Accessibility> Touch. Scroll to the bottom and turn on Vibration…

Is this what you meant by “checked software”?

Happy Fixing :)

Yeah, tried this already. By “reinstalled the software”, I mean I’ve put the iPhone into DFU and reloaded iOS from my MacBook.
