Can I replace the native screen with a third party LCD screen?

The iPhone 12 mini is perfect size to me - no other phone manufacturers in the world make a phone of same size as far as I am aware of. However, it use OLED display which suffer from PWM problem which is not acceptable to me. Can I change the screen for a third party LCD part to remove the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Do not put an LCD on a phone designed for OLED. It can damage the actual connectors on the board and will impact battery life. OLED technology has improved as well. Just wait and see what happens.

Can you elaborate a bit on how it "can damage the actual connectors"? I am aware of its impact on battery life if it can be done, and as for OLED tecnology my main problem is with the PWM which I have experienced even when using other flagship products in recent time but I wouldn't discuss the good/bad of them here, just focus on the possibility of changing the screen into LCD

@Phake Nick because LCD draws more current, it needs thicker pins in the connector to accommodate the extra amps. This video will do a better job of explaining it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3knepmKx...

Surely you can find some lcd display from China market but you can encounter lot of problems after the change.

The first is that iPhone boot up with a message that screen is not genuine.

The second is that you’ll lose perfect compatibility and True Tone.

Then you can find more related issue caused by lower quality of screen (bad colors/contrast, lower brightness and more battery usage).

I hope this can be useful :)

have a nice day

I would give up all of the above mentioned to just use a LCD panel in my 11 Pro Max because this Oled screen gives me continuous headache and nausea

I have the same problem with IPhone 14.... Very bad eye strain.

If the screen flickering caused by PWM makes your eyes uncomfortable, then replacing the LCD screen is the best choice. However, most third-party screens have wider borders, which may affect the visual experience.
