GE washing machine keeps powering off and won't stay on

Hi everyone. I have a GE Spacemaker WSLS1100 Portable Washing Machine (top-load) that is now about 17 years old. I was in the middle of doing laundry a few days ago when the machine powered off without warning during the final spin cycle. I have had some issues with the power cord before and had to repair it a couple of years ago due to some broken wiring, so thinking that was the issue again, I made sure there were no loose connections and tried to power on the machine again. But nothing. I opened up the machine and used a multi-meter on the cord to ensure the circuit was complete, and it was. Even opened up the PCB and checked to make sure the current was getting all the way from the plug to the board, and it was fine. But the machine still wouldn’t turn on, so I let it be.

I came back the next morning and pressed ON, and the machine turned on without a problem. I tried putting it in the spin cycle because there was still a full load of wet clothes sitting in there from the night before, but then it turned back off after a few minutes. I tried turning it on again but nothing happened. Frustrated, I left the machine and came back an hour later, and tried turning it on, and it worked. But then it turned off again after a couple of minutes!

This has happened a few times now and I don’t know what to do. Machine turns on fine if you leave it alone, and then turns off after a few minutes. It won’t turn on again if I try shortly after it quits. But wait about 30 min-1 hour plus, and it turns on again. What could be the problem here??
