Battery connector gets hot after plugging in new battery

iPhone XS battery replacement. Installed new battery but when plugging it into the board the connector starts to get rapidly warm. Just disconnected and didn’t attempt to boot phone. Was not sure if this was a normal reaction. Have ever noticed it on any other battery repair before.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Does it happen with the old battery also?

Excess heat is a sign of a short. Inspect the connectors on both to make sure they’re not damaged and then try with the new battery. Why was it initially replaced? I’m assuming because it needed it but would like to confirm that’s the case. Also where did you source your battery from?

Some context would help here. Why did you replace the battery to begin with.

As the original answer mentions, heat may indicate a short circuit. Is your phone still powering on?
