MacBook Pro turning off when pressure is applied at a specific spot.

Hi, my laptop has been randomly turning off. I noticed that it happens when I apply pressure to the bottom of the laptop and sometimes if I am using the trackpad.

I took the cover off and played around until I traced it down to pressure being applied to this metal bracket on the logic board. There seems to be a metal piece that sticks out underneath the bracket that holds something in place.

Does anyone know why this would happen or what it is for?

I’m not really sure what that Piece is, but it’s possible that pressing down on it may cause it to touch something else and short out, thus turning your computer off.
