Home button ribbon socket

I accidentally took off the socket from where it was connected. How can I put it back on? It doesn't look like it snaps into place.

iPhone 4 Home Button Replacement

its the socket with the ribbon cable retainer on step 31. I tried to reconnect it with some glue but it looks like there are very small connection that would be almost impossible to reconnect. I put it back together and my home button does not work at all. I think I will need a whole home button assembly now.

Ahh glue, my worse enemy. That connector is a flip connector, like the #3 connector on the 3G/3GS. If you damage that, you can replace it by replacing the entire dock connector. I would replace the home button ribbon while youre at it. Glue only makes things work, doesnt mix with electronics.

To put the home button ribbon, you flip the latch, slide it in, and then clamp back down on the latch.
