What part is this?

Hey,

I got a quick question, what is the part in the uploaded picture? It has a slight scratch (inside the ventilation opening) and I was wondering if it is connected to the display. Is this the antenna or part of the display flex cable system?

No, these are the ribbon cables to your display [WARNING these are very fragile!]

Thanks for the answer! Will this become an issue later down the road or will it remain a cosmetic problem?

@mfbaba - Not enough is visible to tell how badly the cable is damaged (that is if it is).

Did you get the service contract when you got your system? AppleCare+

I would get it to save your self some heavy change as the display is quite expensive!

@danj I just noticed it after I got the laptop about a month ago: mac is pretty new. I do have AppleCare +. I'm going to contact them about the cable.

@mfbaba - Sounds like a plan! Don't forget to accept the answer, good luck!
