iPod charges but isn't detected by iTunes or Computer (PC)

I have tried all fixes for these symptoms shown on the fixya.com site except replacing the logic board. I have tried the 5 R's, deleting temp, support, update and installation files/programs. Tried reinstalling iTunes. When I plug the iPod in, iTunes jumps but, doesn't recognize the iPod. The iPod screen will go to "charge" but, not "Do not Disconnect". The iPod plays fine and all functions seem okay. I have not used the iPod or connected the iPod to this computer in a very long time and added songs before reconnecting it after a long time. Is there anything else I can try short of replacing the logic board?
