Why is my Hdmi not working on my broken laptop after resetting?

My laptop got stepped on a while ago and the screen broke to the point you can’t see anything. Last night I reset it and now it won’t connect to the tv i’ve been using as a monitor. I’ve tried everything but nothing has worked
