Disk utilities won't allow me to format hard drive, next step?
Got this A1150 macbook pro with hard drive wiped and then written over with 0's (for security reasons?). Trying to prepare it for re-install of os but when I try to partition disk utilities tells me that this is the start up volume and can't be erased. It also shows 2 partitions Macintosh H, and Macintosh H2. Verify disk reports failure due to not enough allocation blocks. Will not give the option to repair disk or repartition Mac' H but will let me divide H2 again. I would like to return it to a single partition, extended (journaled) with GUID formatting and re-install os x 10.4.6. Will this be possible with this hard drive or will I be better off just starting over with a new hard drive?
Is this a good question?
