Not detecting + not charging battery

Decided to take out my A1181 for some Freehand work this morning, only to find it off. I checked the LEDs on my battery and they were still full, so I plugged in an adapter, the computer turns on, and I get the X battery with “No Batteries Available”. The green light on the magsafe also took quite a while only to show bright green. I’ve gotten it to

The battery was working perfectly fine until now, so to figure out if it was the battery that went bad I used it in another A1181, and that works fine. It even charges the battery!

I just left the laptop overnight on a desk as I normally do.

To summarize:

-battery is fine

-computer is fine

-battery is not charging but charges on other A1181s

-battery is not being detected except on other A1181s

Is there some sort of part that supplies/draws power to and from the battery that just went bad and that I can replace?

And before someone comments "install CoconutBattery", I can't - the computer is running 10.5 Leopard. I'm not going to some completely untrusted website just to check a battery that isn't even being detected.

The computer now detects the battery somehow after I did absolutely nothing. Although the charger now lights orange, so I’m suspecting it’s the DC-in board failing
