Second generation of iPhone. Model A1241 / 8 or 16 GB capacity / black or white plastic back. Repair is more straightforward than the first iPhone. requires screwdrivers, prying, and suction tools.

What does it mean a snow flake symbol on the screen?

My Iphone wont turn on and it's showing a snow flake symbol on the screen. Is it fixable?

your phone has been jailbroken (ultrasn0w?)which is why you see that instead of an apple...tried holding power and home for 10 seconds? this will force phone to reload/reboot. Has the phone been "crashing" recently or freezing? have you tried ireb or recboot to bump it out of recovery? What happened to the phone is what we need to know so we can help you better. Otherwise we're just on a hit and miss and we'd rather give good straightforward advice which will fix the phone quicker.

I purchased an iphone 3gs second hand, I thought the best thing to do would be to factory reset the whole system so id have a totally clean phone to use. When it switched back on it had a snow flake instead of the apple. I have read different forums and tried holding both buttons and I left it over night but its still there.anyone have any suggestions how to help me please.sorry to piggyback your forum but it might just help the both of us.
