120gb iPod wont turn on

im new to this and decided to buy a broken ipod to try to fix myself. i have since taken it apart and replaced the battery. i have tore it all the way down and checked all connections and parts to look for any form of damage. i then put it back together and still can not get it to turn on or charge up. computer does not register it being plugged in. any advice or help will be greatly helpful and appreciated.

There are a few steps you could take. number one is to charge with a AC (wall) charger, they have more amps and supply more power to the iPod. A battery past its threshold will not charge. Make sure that you are using a good cable and check your dock connector. Make sure there are no bent pins, no corrosion and no debris in it. If any of this should check out ok, time to consider a new logic board. Not terribly expensive and a relative easy fix. Let us know what works for you....welcome to ifixit ;-)

In that case, I would go with a new logic board. This is a classic and not a 5th gen, correct? Logic boards are available at multiple sites from about $50 to $100....
