My Ipod 160GB Classic produces scratchy sound even though the songs is not playing. I have shown it to different service center in India but they failed to repair it. Please suggest me the solution for it.

umesh thapa, if your iPod does not produce, or produces scratchy sound consistently, I believe that the fault is with your audio IC. There are places that do the repair on the logic board, if you do not want to change IC's yourself :-) Of course, you can replace the board which might be anywhere between $45-100

hey pal can you tell where can I get my IC's changed in India and how much will it cost,, and is it worth to change it.
Sorry, I do not know where you can get it done in India or even how much it would cost. Since it is an IC, you would be looking at a sophisticated undertaking, possible a shop that does reflow's might help. I would suggest a new logic board.

Nah, don't dump it. Get a logic board for around $40 and either sell it or keep saving your money....;-) Thanks for accepting my answer.
I admire your suggestion, but its difficult in India to get a new or old Logic Board and no one is here to repair or replace it either.

So even when you are not selecting a song, your iPod makes a scratchy sound? How is the sound when you try to play it through a docking station?

Even when i play the songs it make a scratchy songs. The problem is still there even if i use docking station, may be its some kind of internal problem or problem with the motherboard. Please suggest some solution for this.

its a 6th gen classic ipod. 160 GB ,I bought it in oct 2009 from Delhi, India.
