Ross, I do not think there is a right or wrong answer on this question. There are plenty of places out there that will sell you a motherboard. I do get my parts from this place and have never had an issue with it. That is not to say that it could not happen to you. Personally, I would look for a vendor that offers a decent warranty, or if you like to shop on ebay, watch the feedback closely. You can never really trust somebody (most vendors are not out to cheat anybody but are honest people) and should always make sure that your purchase is covered.
