Saved data on SD card

I have a damaged charging port. I would prefer to replace the mother board vice the charging port. Is all the data (pictures) retained on the sd card, so replacement of the mother board does not cause a loss of the data?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @j_f_l_ ,

What is the model number of the tablet?

Presumably your model has the USB charge port soldered onto the systemboard, is this correct? Just asking as some Galaxy Tab 4 models e.g. Tab 4 10.1 have the charge port on a flex cable module that can be more easily replaced and is also cheaper than a new systemboard. (see Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Micro USB Port Replacement guide)

As to your question you can move all your personal data to the SD card but it might depend on the app. Also not all downloaded apps can be moved to the SD card so they will have to be reinstalled.

Do a backup of the tablet using the tablet’s backup feature, to the cloud or a PC as well. At least that way everything that can be saved, will be.
