The click wheel’s pause button doesn’t “click”

I recently acquired an old ipod photo that surprisingly works great but one thing i noticed as soon as i picked it up was that the play/pause button on the clickwheel, while working normally, doesn’t “click” like the other buttons do, it feels soft and mushy and it hardly generate any sound. Is there any way to clean it or do i have to replace the whole part?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You will likely have to replace the whole part. The click wheel buttons in these iPods are part of the click wheel, so you can’t clean underneath it easily like you would with a later generation iPod.
