wont turn on after diy repair

after replacing screen myself Iphone speaker was not working so I was going to check the #3 connection and forgot to turn off the iphone before taking apart. checked all connections multiple times, have waited 5 mins for reboot several times. Did I fry the iphone by not turning it off before taking apart? IF so can I fix it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I also have the same problem. I repaired my iPhone's cracked screen and after reconnecting everything it wont seem to turn on. I thought I might have broken the LCD but even if it were broken it would atleast glitch or something

hey, i did tear down too of the top glass part on my iphone 3g and once i put everything back together, i couldn't turn the iphone on (or it seemed that it was off). But once I plugged in to charge it, the screen started working. What could be the reason? Thanks..

this is a very common question, and i have yet to find a detailed answer on this website. Everyone seems to ignore it, and it's torturous because i have the same problem. Repaired everything fine. Connectors are in place...phone's display will not work. Itunes charges the phone, and I can toggle the vibrate/ringer switch to make the phone vibrate...but that's it. PLEASE HELP! Many people have asked as i've searched for this for hours upon hours.

is the phone actually charging? if not, then there seems to be a connection problem. Try and see if the battery is actually connected. Tell me what happens after you do that. Let me help you

Hi everyone,

I changed my LCD and charged the phone fully but the screen stayed black. The iphone alarm clock kept ringing so I knew the phone was working but could not turn it off and still had the black screen.

I reopened the iphone as advised & found the connector 1 unplugged. I replugged it. The screen was still black after that, so I tried the home + sleep button for 10 seconds and the apple finaly appeared ! It's working perfect now ...

Hope this will work for you & good luck

This happened when I added a custom silver housing, all you have to do is run BlackRa1n and when it restarts, the display will work.

I tried all of the above and none worked and after trying a new plug/usb cable i was conviced it had something to do with the battery after a couple of hours of unpluging and repluging 1,2&3 conectors at the top i found two small metal strips which one had bent at the bottom which conects the screen to the battery i think anyway i bent it back put it back together and it turn straight back on hope it helps
