Replaced the screen, phone worked for a day, suddenly in recovery mode

Hi. I replaced a cracked screen using an iFixit part and video. The phone worked great for about a day but now it gives me a black (dead) screen when unplugged and the recovery screen when it's plugged into a charger. When it is plugged in, the lightning bolt does not appear on the battery icon (only the plug appears).

I conclude that either the battery is dead, or that I somehow killed that part of the phone that controls charging behavior. If the battery is dead of natural causes, the timing is very unusual-- it almost can't be a coincidence!

Can anyone offer a good hypothesis for what happened? How and why the battery would manage to power the phone but suddenly stop taking a charge? Further, what might I have done on reassembly to cause this condition?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If your phone suddenly stopped taking a charge after a day, I would say that maybe the dock connector is either unplugged or not seated properly on the logic board. But you say that the phone does recognize it's plugged in, just not charging. Still, I would check that connection. Maybe the battery is disconnected. Have you checked that connection? Are you plugging it into an AC power source or your computer?

Scott, thanks for your suggestion. I have ordered a new battery and I will re-seat the dock connector when I install the battery. The battery may be disconnected; it's also possible that the wire in the ribbon cable just gave way. To answer your question, I have tried both the wall charger and the computer.
