Can you use iPod Video parts on a iPod Classic?

So I recently acquired a 7th iPod Classic with a dying drive and bad battery.

I’m planning on replacing the drive with flash memory and the battery, but I soon discovered that the 5th generation iPod (referred to iFixit as the Video) has one of the best sound chips ever made in the history of the iPod.

So, I was wondering: Does anyone know if the 5th Gen’s audio cable (iPod Video 30 GB Headphone Jack & Hold Switch)

can replace this

(iPod Classic (Thin) Headphone Jack & Hold Switch)

With no problems?

EDIT: To explain better, I’m asking if anyone knows the pinouts of these components and whether or not they’re the same.

I'm going to say no. You are showing 2 different parts and two different prices so I don't think they will fit.

I mean this as an experiment. Like, since the 7th gen is newer, then maybe it retained the same pinout as the 5th gen, which will allow me to use 5th gen parts in a 7th gen iPod Classic.

You can try it but it could damage your ipod.
