You have damaged the LCD my friend. There is no way to repair this, you may have dropped your screwdriver or tool onto the unprotected LCD, as for a removal of LCD on this IMac you have to take down the magnetic glass shield. You should either buy a new LCD or live with it. If you do end up buying a new LCD,. I can tell you how to make a monitor/TV with the old LCD, although the line will still be there

Sorry!

Nothing surprising here.. Exactly what I thought. This is a clients computer so an improv repair is not going to do it haha. Just lost € 550 in 30 minutes

@faloude There's bad days and there's good days. I was doing a laptop repair and I split coffee over the internals.. Don't worry, you'll earn it back

@faloude - I would add using the wrong tools or driving the tool in too deep.

@jupstips - Please refrain from posting your email address. Update your contact card with your information. Look at mine for what it should have. I'm now retired doing a few systems here and there.

Same thing happened to me. Is there a way to re-house all the components without the display? I am never getting another here in Nepal, not possible in the age of Covid. See Ever re-homed iMac components into another case, without the display? for my genius (or not) idea…
