1.5 glitchy strip in the middle of screen

I dropped my laptop like 12 inches onto carpet, and now it has a glitchy flickering 1.5 inch strip down the middle. At first, I tried wiping the screen, and it went away for a few weeks and then came back. I repeated that a few times, but now, it won’t go away unless I pinch the top grey part of the laptop and apply pressure on both the front and back of the screen. Otherwise, it’s permanent and stays there. It does not show up on screenshots, and I’ve tried everything. Please Help!

Thanks

There is little you can do here. Pressing on the bezel areas where the line appears might help, that assumes you have a TAB error which is where the ribbon cable came loose from the glass panel. More likely your panel has a micro fracture severing the very thin metal oxide traces which drives the given column or row.

The only real way to fix this properly is to replace the display assembly. As you didn’t tell us which of the many versions of 11” MacBook Airs I can’t aim you to the needed part of guide.
