Hi @vampyandrepo ,

If water enters the tub even though the washer is not switched on, it sounds like there is a problem with a water inlet solenoid valve in the machine.

Close both the hot and cold taps that the washer’s hoses are connected to and then open only one (either the hot or the cold) and check if water still enters the machine. If no water enters, close the tap that is open and open the other and check.

This will tell you which solenoid valve may be faulty or not seating properly due to grit being lodged in the valve. Although if there is a lot of water entering the machine this should have flushed any grit out of the valve. Just in case, turn off both the water taps and then disconnect the hose from the machine and check that the filter in the end of the hose connector that connects at the machine end is OK and not broken.

If the solenoid valve is faulty it cannot be repaired. It has to be replaced. What is the model number of the washer? This will help to find the correct replacement part for your particular model.

Here's a link to a supplier of the valves that may help.

It is useful as it has a video that shows how to change them.

Unfortunately if only one valve is the problem you still will have to change both as they come as a complete module set of two valves.

Search online for 285805 to find suppliers of the valve assembly that suit you best.
