Screen flickering at low brightness
The S7 edge has in an AMOLED display. Typical OLED displays like televisions do not require a backlight, however the phone has one to decrease screen glare in bright environments. Also to control the brightness of the OLEDs the voltage in the series is either increased or decreased. In a series circuit, the current that flows through each of the components is the same, and the voltage across the circuit is the sum of the individual voltage drops across each component. The damaged screen is disrupting the series causing all the diodes after to freak out. This could be solved if you could control the brightness of the AMOLEDs and the backlight independently but I have not been able to find any settings for this. This could also be fixed if there is a way to do a new baseline on the ambient light sensor to trick the phone into thinking it’s in a super bright environment all the time.
I have also used Lux Auto Brightness to change the light reading from the light sensor to the camera on the phone but has no change on the issue.
Any ideas?
Is this a good question?
