No water to GE icemaker

Hello all. Any help appreciated--I have been trying to fix the icemaker wr30x0328 on my GE TPX24bBDAww side by side.

Initially--the problem was that the icemaker was making ice/receiving water but the auger was not working--subsequently I changed the Auger motor however it would still not run--there was just a noise but the motor did not turn--more research suggested possibly a bad control board for the auger motor problem. I also then noticed that the icemaker was no longer getting water/making ice

I suspected that the icemaker was not working as I likely damaged the harness from the fridge to the icemaker plug socket and it was not receiving power.

Also the water dispenser would not stop at the end of a cycle and kept leaking for a while--reading here led me to think a possible water valve issue.

Accordingly-- I have subsequently replaced the control board and the water valve--the auger motor now does work when ice is selected and the water leak issue stopped--however--the icemaker still does not call for water.

I hence changed the main wiring harness thinking it was damaged--even with a new harness--everything else works but not the icemaker

Then I thought somehow the icemaker got damaged in this process--so replaced that as well--but still not working--I"m at my wits end.

To summarise:

NEW icemaker

NEW wiring harness

NEW water valve

NEW control board.

Water dispenser works fine. No ice in icemaker fill tube. Icemaker line from valve ice free. Freezer is adequately cold. Water filter and pressure is fine.

What am I missing? why is the icemaker still not calling for water?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

What is the part circled? Temparature sensor of some sort? Will its position/function affect icemaker?

Thanks
