How to rescue my photos from shorted phone with no screen?

Ok so. Mission impossible here we go. Anyone who solves this is a genius. The short version - which parts of the phone do I need to work with to get my photos? Can I take it out and fit into a spare iphone 5?

The long version -

I accidentally dropped my iphone8 in the bath, and since it was already smashed. It then stopped working. So I read to put it in rice to try and dry it out. But when I took it out of the rice to see if it was working there was a bit of rice lodged in the charging port.

So I tried to remove the rice with a pair of tweezers but was just pushing it further into the charging port.

And I must have pushed it too hard because the edge of the screen popped up.

Well the genius that I am thought to myself, well if its broken anyway its not going to be anymore broken if I remove the screen and try dry the inside of the phone.

So I prize the screen off and the phone is in two parts. Theres water inside so I start drying it with a towel,

and next thing I know, a siren starts blaring out of the iphone which is still in two pieces. So I panic myself and try to like just jam the screen back on and then a voice starts coming out of the phone "Hello, emergency services, do you need the police? Hello do you need the police?" .... And the phone, which no longer even has a screen attached has somehow decided to call the police and I can't even hang up cos the phone is totally wrecked... Fml. Couldn't make it up

Answer this question I have this problem too

Rice doesn't do anything for a wet phone and it only gets rice in the charging port which is something you found out. My recommendation is to send it someone to extract the data. Once a phone is wet it will most likely never work normally again. I would send it to iPad rehab ipadrehab.com it costs 300 dollars for data recovery I believe and they don't charge you unless they get the data. If your phone ever gets wet again turn it off and DON'T charge it. Take it to a repair shop and have them open it and disconnect the battery and dry the phone with hot air.
