MacBook Air 11" - Interchangeable logic boards?

Hi to all, I’m a bit new to the MacBook home repair game and hoping to find some good advice here.

I have a MacBook Air 11” A1465 early 2015 model that needs a new logic board. Like most people i’m on a budget and have found a nicely priced MBA 11” Mid-2012 A1465 logic board. Will the 2015 model take the 2012 logic board? If so would it result in any issues with ports etc due to it being a few years behind the newer model.

Appreciate any help people, thanks

Sorry, it won’t work ;-{

Apple altered things enough in Mid 2013 to 2017 models so that the 2012 logic board won’t fit or work properly. Your SSD which is PCIe 2.0 x4 won’t work in the mSATA slot in the 2012 logic board so you’ll also need a new SSD making the cost higher.

Frankly, the performance difference will be quite noticeable as well!

Cheers, guess I’ll just have to bite the bullet and buy a 2015 logic board. Thanks for the answer

In theory, it should. Just make sure the 2 boards have the exact same specs.
