No Sims Card to Black screen

I had my iPhone display no sim card, so I turned off the iphone to open the sims card and put it back in. As I tried to turn it back on, the apple logo wouldn't show up. I put it down and a few seconds later, I am hearing a static noise coming from the phone, and the phone is getting hot. It stopped maybe after a minute. But now the phone wont start with or without a force turned on.

Is there any steps I should try? Thanks!
