1988 Chevrolet K3500 Heater Core Replacement

While removing and replacing our heater core, a clip fell out of the heating system and we cannot find where it goes as we cannot find an exploded view of the heating system. The switches no longer work and we know we have everything else hooked up properly. Anyone out there know where we can find an exploded view of this system? We certainly understand why the dealerships charge so much money for this reapir.

Since you did not quite mention everything about your vehicle I went by the description from ifixit and posted the service manual for the 96-98 Silverado. It should be the same setup on the heating system. Let us know if that will help with your "clip". The manual is available here and I attached an exploded view of the heating system. Good Luck

It would be great to get the same manual you listed above for my two trucks (unless there are no differences) - I have the 1988 Chevy 1 ton dually 4x4, automatic with 454 and 1979 GMC 1 ton 4x4 4 speed with 454 (not dually). Let me know if you need more information on the trucks themselves. I'm posting this for my husband.

I am going to take a look around and see what I can come up with :-) Most of my manuals or on CD and it might take me a while, but don't despair. Usually I get what I need so bear with me....good luck on your projects.
