need help Jailbreaking my unlocked 3gs iPhone

Hi, I just baught a 3GS 32Gb Iphone and it's already unlocked but not jailbroken ( no cydia installed ), model number is MC133B and it's also Old boot.

I was wondering if i jailbreak my iphone will it be locked again? and how can i check if it is factory unlocked.

Note that the IOS is 4.3.5 and BB 05.16.02. that's why i'm worried about jailbreaking it coz if it's locked i will be stuck in this unlockable baseband and i'll have to upgrade to BB 6.15 and loose my GPS which i don't want to.

Any help?!

Thank you.

you should be able to do a jb without unlock..if you have doubts about the "factory" unlock being legit, then don't do the jb.

agree with pollytintop....if you are unsure, leave it alone. May safe yourself a big headache....

alright thank you guys, but just one last question isn't there any way to check if it's factory unlocked? other then dowing a restore to check if it will unlock by itself?

thanks again guys, i appreciate it.

MaEsTrO, if you are running 4.3.5, there is no untethered JB for that firmware. Download TinyUmbrella and use that to restore to 4.3.3 and preserve your baseband. Use Redsn0w to JB 4.3.3.

NO it will not get locked again if you jailbreak your unlocked Iphone 3GS. But If you have unlocked your Iphone 3GS temporally, and if you upgrade or update your version it will get locked again. So my suggest is get your Iphone 3GS unlocked permanently. Use remote unlocking service to do so. It is a permanent unlocking method. Jail breaking is not necessary in this method of unlocking Iphones. Get this service from the site Mobile-Unlocker.com ,and unlock it using unlocking institutions which is given in the site itself.

Its unlocked and the sim holds the info so if you jailbreak it nothing will happen.

thank you mop for your response, but actually it was unlocked in another country, now i'm using it with a different sim that's why i'm confused.

by

mop, you are incorrect. Updating his software without preserving Baseband will ruin his unlock.

by

well majesty what do u advice me to do ?

by

that's the solution to jailbreak but it will be locked if it's not factory unlocked.

and there is no unlock solution for my Baseband

by

So Majesty what you are saying that if i did a downgrade preserving my BB it will still be unlocked? because as i was searching the net i found out that it might be locked to a carrier which is O2 in Ireland or UK.
