How do I fix colored lines down my screen caused by pressure?

My laptop was open and I had been using it. I went to push the screen back a little and placed my hand around the side of the screen (so my thumb was on the screen and the rest of my hand was on the back (in picture). Suddenly a bunch of lines popped up tracing to where my thumb was and have not gone away in weeks. The glass itself is not broken so I think the issue is underneath. Is this fixable? How expensive would it be to fix?

Sorry to tell you the back glass (LCD panel) is cracked!

I often see this happen when something like a pen or pencil was resting on the keyboard and the lid was closed on it.

You’ll need a new display assembly 13” Retina MacBook Pro Display Assembly, Apple P/N 661-7014 and here’s the guide you’ll need to follow MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2012 Display Assembly Replacement

My brother has an old Macbook Pro from early 2011 (the one that still had the disk drive) but it is very slow . Can I take his LCD screen and put it in my Retina Macbook Pro

@sabrinabruno3 - Sadly, you can't use your brothers system for parts. There is too many differences for it to work.

Just like cars which look alike from the outside one uses gasoline and the other uses diesel! All you'll do is damage the engine if you put in the wrong fuel into the wrong car!
