There are many tools, tricks and options to do this, one such way is to use senuti which gives you a free trial to use it.

Here's a Macworld article that you may find useful on the subject.

I've used iPod Rip but not Senuti. Do you have any experience using these products? Which do you prefer?

by

In my opinion they're all the same, but I've heard senuti gives the best user experience. For people who know how, like myself, I prefer the invisible files route.

by

So you have no experience with either. Do you use the find /Volumes/[iPod'sNAME]/iPod_Control/Music -print | awk '¬ { gsub(/ /, "\ "); print }' method or some other?

by

I just have my machine configured to show hidden files, so I can go into any iPod and just find the music files.

Try the two methods to transfer music from iPod to pc

Method One: Transfer with iTransfer

  • Install iTransfer

Download and launch iTransfer, an app exclusively designed for transferring data between Apple devices.

  • Choose music songs

Open iTransfer and choose “Music” option in the drop-down menu of “Library“. Then all the music songs stored in iPod Touch 5 will be listed in the right part of the panel.

  • From iPod Touch 5 to computer

Select all those songs one want to transfer from iPod Touch 5 to computer, right click the mouse and choose “My Computer” in the drop-down menu of “Transfer to“.

  • Start transference

After all those steps, set the location of output file with “Save to folder” bar and click “Transfer Now” to start transferring music from iPod Touch 5 to computer.

Method Two: Transfer with iCloud

As one of the most eye-attraction service carried out by Apple, the loftily-expected iCloud is accessible to almost all Apple devices. After two-year evolution, iCloud enables users to manage the transference of music from iPod Touch 5 to computer. What they need to do is to upload the songs to the cloud with iPod Touch 5 and then download the songs from the cloud with computers. Moreover, iTunes plays no role in this process.

However, this method is a good one to transfer music from iPod Touch 5 to computer but not a perfect one. For one thing, the uploading of photos from iPod Touch 5 to iCloud is not time-consuming but also data-eating. For another, since limited storage is provided, extra charge will be needed to use more storage when all free storage is consumed.
