My Kindle model D01200 is frozen on the home page screen

My Kindle model D01200 is frozen on the sleep page screen.

Swapped the battery out, still locked on sleep page.

Charged unit and reset with power button push for 1 minute. No response.

Any encouraging ideas, or is it toast?
