How to replace black ribbon connector on motherboard of right Joy-Con

I am nearly finished a button swap and am in the reassembling stage. However, there is a single ribbon connector that I cannot seem to lock back into place, photo of connector location attached. I have tried tilting the motherboard down into the connector, securing the motherboard and trying to press the connector into place, I’ve used several different types of tweezers and angles and methods to get the ribbon in place and locked in with no luck, and I can’t find anyone else with this issue so I’m not quite sure what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.
