I broke my SD slot trying to fix it

Basically I Bought a 2ds off of eBay the seller didn’t tell me or put in the description that it didn’t come with an SD card. That didn’t really matter tho because I knew I had one of my old ones. So when I go to put it in I get the write protection thing. I tried fixing it but I ended up breaking it. So my question is should I just buy a new motherboard or attempt to replace the SD slot.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

I would replace the SD card reader slot as it’s way less expensive then buying a new motherboard, and it could be difficult to find the motherboard for sale.

Anyway, it depends on your de-soldering and soldering skills. If you know how to desolder and solder, and did this already a few times, you can just try it. Otherwise you could bring it to your local repair shop, so that they can repair it (I guess this is also cheaper then a new motherboard).

Edit: One more thing, the write protection switch is on the SD card. You tried to switch it and it still didn’t worked?
