Asus Vivobook X412DA won't turn on but the power LED is on - RESOLVED

UPDATE: I checked my BIOS version and it appeared outdated. So I updated to the latest version via Device Manager, and now restarting works just fine!

Hello, recently I’ve been having issues turning on my laptop (I put the system info below). In addition, sometimes when l leave it idle for while (after it’s turned on successfully), the screen turns black (but is still lit on) and doesn’t response when I pressed anything except the power button to force shut down.

When I select Restart, the system will shut down but does not boot up again automatically so I have to press the power button. It happened a few times over a couple of months but now, it doesn’t work with one try.

Now when I press the power button, I can see the power LED turned on, hear the sounds from the base as if the machines are working but the screen doesn’t light up. I’ve waited for 3-4 hours, it stays the same. What I do now is keeping the laptop always on.

I read some suggestions online and have tried the followings:

1) Uncheck the “Fast startup'“ in Power Options settings.

2) In the power plan settings, I’ve done “Restore default settings for this plan”

3) Unplug the power cord, force shut down the laptop by pressing the power button for a few seconds, then press it again and hold.

The laptop turns on only after 10+ times repeating the process in step 3) above.

Hope someone can advise me on what’s gone wrong with the laptop and what to do to fix it.

Going to a repair center would be the last resort, though this laptop is still in warranty period.
