What compound do I use on the Ati Radeon graphics card?

I bought a new Ati Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card for my iMac but it came without the heatsink.

I took my old one apart and realized that they used two different kinds of compounds. The grey silver one on the Ati graphic chip itself and a white chewy one on the four black squares on the board. I assume the black squares are the memory chips.

If I put it together I can use the Artic Silver on the Ati chip but what kind am I supposed to use on the black squares?

You can still use Arctic Silver on the black memory chips, just make sure that you clean all of the old thermal paste off of the chip before re-applying it.

Thank you Chris! I used Isopropyl alcohol to clean the white chewy paste off. I also had to use a spudger to scrape it off. Hopefully I did not destroy anything (some of the alcohol dripped on the board).

Do you know why Apple uses two different kinds of thermal paste? Just curious to know.

The thermal paste that Apple uses varies, it depends on where/when the computer was made, and whatever the factory happened to have in stock when the computer was made.
