My ps4 controller is all the way dead

I was playing my game and then my controller just blinks white for about 3 minutes and shuts off. This happened to me 2 times but after those two times the controller would turn back on after a while. But this time it didn't even if i put the usb in. I pressed the reset button on the back of the controller, i tried doing the “press the share button and ps button simultaneously”, the %#*@ thing wouldn’t turn on or anything even if i pressed the ps button on it. But strangely the controller would work only if it was in safe mode. Please if someone could help that would be very appreciative.

Could be a dying battery or power issue on the motherboard by the sounds of it

Ok, thank you very much. Had a feeling about the battery and i played games while charging it, and would be overcharging for like more than it should. Ive already ordered a new controller and will send the broken one to a shop after this pandemic. Thank you very much i was close to losing it lol.

@Jaws Glad I could help out! trying to isolate the problem without a spare battery to test whether it is the battery or not is a bit of a pain haha. I ran into this daily while trying to fix PS4 power issues controllers

It’s most likely I bad battery, on Ifixit you can purchase a battery for $7. They have guide as well to help you do it. Won’t take long at all.
